The Two-Chord Song
How to play
Choose two chords. Write a short verse and a short chorus using only those two chords.
Make the sections feel different without adding any new chords. Change the rhythm, the strumming, the register or the order the chords come in.
Sing or hum a melody over each part if you like.
Challenge
Make the chorus feel like a lift: higher, louder or more rhythmically active than the verse, using only the same two chords.
Tips
Contrast comes from many things besides the chords: dynamics, rhythm and how many strings you play.
