Play Less
How to play
Improvise over a backing track or a chord loop. In each bar you can play only one or two notes.
Make every note count. Choose it carefully, give it a beautiful tone and then leave silence before the next one.
Silence is part of the music. Count the bars so you notice how long the gaps are.
Challenge
Play a whole chorus where one bar is completely silent and the phrase still feels intentional.
Tips
If it feels too sparse, you are probably doing it right.
